Loved Little Lady | Salisbury MD Baby Photographer

"...and she Will be loved."

I don't know another baby that could possibly be as loved as this tiny one...In my short time with her I got to meet an uncle, two aunts, grandpa, great grandpa, and a cousin.  They all came over just to share in the experience as Baby E had her session.  Sweet as can be and cuddly to boot this baby girl is L-O-V-E loved!  I know her Mama was flustered over the entourage but they were helpful and welcoming and just overall great to have there!

Little Miss was stingy with her smiles but definitely not lacking in expression!  I was able to capture all sorts of variety from that itty face.  And isn't she just the most photogenic little thing you've ever seen??  I don't know what's bigger: those big baby-blues or those squishy cheeks...she rocks them both!  Thanks to Mama for having me over to play dress up and for all those recommendations you've been giving me out there! And special thanks to Aunt Karen for letting me rearrange your home (twice!).

Blue Eyes & Ninny Bears | Salisbury MD Child Photographer

"Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine"

That's exactly what this Darling Boy did on this dreary Friday morning.  His mommy and I have been trying to get together for a while now and after a week of 70 degree weather the day we meet up is cool, damp and cloudy!  We made the most of it and her little guy brought his A-game.  He had no interest in cameras, silly sounds, funny mommy or anything of the sort.  He had one thing on his mind that day: getting all those extraneous, tiny flowers back to their rightful homes.  He would've had that park re-landscaped if we had let him!  The fabulous thing was that he got himself good and muddy and who doesn't love messy little boy portraits?  His intense focus on his surroundings allowed me the time to play around with my camera settings and try some different things with perspective.  Make sure and check out those cheeks, those blue Blue eyes, and that Ninny Bear...dangerous combination of cuteness.

Thanks so much to Mom for bringing him out to spend some time and having patience with me and those clouds! I can't wait to hang out with you guys again!

For My Sister | Delmar MD Child Photographer

"...a bushel and a peck, and a hug around the neck..."

So legend has it that our grandmother, whom we never had the opportunity to meet, used to sing this song to our mother and her sisters.  My mom has always sang it to us...my aunt to our young cousins, and now my sister to her two little ones.  My sister, who is about to lose her mind if I don't post her babies on my blog, keeps telling me how much she loves how personal I am with each family and session so I figured nothing is more personal than my own family!

I was there when this Love Bug was born, when she went through her shoe fetish and sat in the middle of the isle at Kohls removing a pair from a mannequin to put them on her own feet, when she picked up her newborn brother "on her own" while he was still in his crib (fun!), and more recently, when she discovered the famous words "nannie nannie boo boo."  My favorite Lillie story, and one that still gets me, happened at Thanksgiving when she was just a few months shy of her 2nd birthday.  I remember we were all so loud (imagine that) talking over each other about this and that when I hear her tiny voice singing, as she now does constantly.  We all hushed and listened as she went on without noticing that we had stopped to admire her.  My mother instantly teared up, and I think we all may have: There's my niece, sitting in her high chair at the Thanksgiving table, completely oblivious to everyone around her, singing our 'I Love You' song to no one in particular.  That's just my Love Bug...

1st Birthday Baby | Delmar DE Child Photographer

"She's cute and sweet and so much fun; a little princess is turning One!"

This Little Princess belongs to close family friends and I have had so much fun photographing and watching her grow over the past year.  I find her such an exciting addition to the predominately boy-filled family:  I LOVED walking into their house and seeing fluffs of pink and piles of sparkles mixed in with the camouflage and mounted game.

Pleasant and happy as ever, Ms. G was especially fun and into her session this time around; being in her space, surrounded by familiarity suited her well!  The weather seemed like it didn't want to agree but it held off and Mom and MomMom were troopers making our ten-minutes-out, ten-minutes-in plan work perfectly.  I've photographed many, Many 1st Birthday sessions and this has been my favorite...Baby was happy and giggly and comfy in her own zone making everyone around her at ease and allowing me to do my job and capture that perfect little one-year-old baby face!
Happy Happy Birthday Beautiful Girl!

Little Girls | Salisbury MD Family Photographer

"A girl is innocence playing in mud, Beauty standing on its head, And motherhood dragging a doll by the foot." - Alan Beck

Who needs sugar and spice and all things nice?  Little girls are made of grins and giggles and the best kind of ornery-ness there is in the world.  I found myself on the badside of Miss L within the first ten minutes of entering her home (and yes I mean Her home!).  She placed her tiny little hand on her pony tail and, looking right at me, started to give it a little pull.  My innate reaction was a gentle "Oh, no no no!" to which she responded with angry eyes and world ending sadness.  In that moment I was completely in love!  Who doesn't love a little sass in the morning?!  She was an absolute angel and completely agreeable once she moved past our little tiff.  Baby sister was full of coos and big sister was gentle and loving with her.  We were even able to get outside for some great family shots; tried to add the extra family member in at the end...I've always said adding a dog into a session is like adding a 1yr old.  Below is the result of having two 1yr-olds in a session!

Sibling Love | Salisbury MD Family Photographer

So yay: I'm finally getting my first post up!  I'm thinking that I want to start every new post with a quote...just something that reminds me of the time I spent with the individuals during each session.

"Friendship, I've discovered a way to stay friends forever -- There's really nothing to it. I simply tell you what to do And you do it!" -Shel Silverstein
Having a big sister of my own I find this quote to ring incredibly true of that relationship more than any other!  This family that I'm starting off with were so much fun and I loved the bantor between Miss M and her little brother.  That little lady is sassy and the epitomy of a big sister: she went from scolding her little brother to complete, motherly concern over his tiny scratch.  And Mr. L is a good time all in his own...I enjoyed watching his inner struggle between doing what he knew he should and what he really wanted to do.  Little boys are fabulous in that way!  (Ps, don't be jealous but they seranaded me with Selena Gomez on the ride home)
Thanks so much to Mom for giving me a call and letting
me steal some time with them and all their fun!

Who I Am

I'm Caitlin! I've been in the photography industry for about 7 years, mostly in a corporate (retail) setting. I'm so excited to switch things up and work with clients on a much more personal level! Coming from that enviornment I know that "picture day" can be one of the most stressful days for a family; this is why my style is so go-with-the-flow! I work with natural lighting and am currently available only on location.
